COVID-19 Updates
CMS, the federal agency that regulates nursing homes, is no longer asking us to publish COVID-19 statistics. You can view their own statistics by clicking this link.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently released new guidance for nursing home visits based upon recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This new guidance significantly improves the ability for our residents to receive visitors indoors. While the new guidance lifts several previously mandated restrictions, there are still some that remain in place that we must follow. Such as:
Screening of all visitors for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and recent exposure to the disease.
Wearing a mask which covers the nose and mouth while in the facility.
Social distancing of at least six feet between persons. NOTE: Vaccinated residents may choose to have close contact with visitors while remaining masked.
Designated visitation spaces to include living rooms, day rooms or private resident room.
Outdoor visits are still preferred due to the low risk of transmission, but we will be allowing indoor visits for all residents regardless of their vaccination status. For more information about our visiting guidelines, Click here to download a copy of the visitation agreement.
Please note: As COVID-19 positive cases continue to exist in our community, our facility has implemented a COVID-19 unit for positive residents to support our local hospital and community. As a result of admitting positive residents, an increase in the number of active cases in our facility is possible. We still have a separate, dedicated isolation unit for new admissions /readmissions who are not active COVID-19 positive. We continue to fight this COVID-19 pandemic by immunizing our staff and residents with the COVID-19 vaccine, following the CDC and local health department guidelines, and partnership with our local hospital and community. We continue to have sufficient PPE for our staff.
